Welcome to the second issue of the Oren Regular In this issue we will feature an interview with Captain Grimbeard a retelling of the Siege of Whisper Isles an advertisement by Chase and some columns by Tim Drossen :: :: WORLD EVENT: :: :: Siege of Whisper Isles :: It was dawn many had believed their troubles over The falling night removed the dangers that came with it Today however was the exception :: The pounding of feet echoed on the King's Road as a small army rushed toward Whisper Isles Prince Perea himself in the lead The undead had once more covered the lands in darkness As the army approached they saw necromancers on the rooftops hurling fireballs and lightning strikes down :: The army charged into the fray The battle was fierce necromancers' magic flying through the  air slaying many soldiers More undead revealed themselves and joined the battle The Prince either wounded or concerned for his troops called for a retreat Many of the soldiers didn't hear or couldn't break off and stayed in the engagement Then a Templar by the name of Xero took lead of the surviving troops He yelled for guards to form defenses and protect homes :: After what seemed an eternity the battle suddenly died down The battle was won but at a very high cost The Templar had a few words to say after the battle "Hmmm a very slim victory The undead are strong but we shall prevail" :: :: ADVERTISEMENT :: :: East Oren Trading Co :: We offer the lowest prices at East Oren Trading Co We also offer apartments at affordable costs for those who need a home   We'll also match ANY price in Alkhazar If you see another store selling an item for less than  us then tell us and we'll check and match it :: This store is located in the Old Marketplace in Oren :: :: INTERVIEW :: :: Captain Grimbeard :: Q: How do you feel about the recent attack on Whisper Isles? It was a very slim victory :: A: Well Whispers Isles' Guards should have been more aware :: Q: The defense was led by a mixed group of troops and even so the battle was nearly lost :: A: Even so we can't afford to send patrols down to Whisper Isles every ten minutes to protect them. They need to build better defenses a wall and defensive structures. :: Q: If attacks on outer cities increase will you spread the guard out to the cities or withdraw them to the capital? :: A: Well that is a question for the General or King but I would withdraw them to the Capital and make heavy patrols around the city. :: Q: How is the military district coming along? :: A: It is coming along tremendously! Semund and the King have helped with construction and the new barracks provide a great place for troops. However we do need to increase security of the area. :: The Captain also wanted to mention something any civilian caught opening the gate will be fined 300 minas Prince's orders. :: :: COLUMN: :: I'm going to apologize in advance for this column. I've been a very busy man and I had planned to write two items for every Sunday edition. But I could not do that today. I have what is below you written. I also recorded the Siege of Whisper Isles report. :: :: Rant: A Cake and Sour Ale Party :: This was meant to be in the first issue but it was delayed so the story may seem dated. I went to the cake party at the Cloud Temple with our head editor Kendrick in hopes of cornering the Wandering Wizard into an interview. We couldn't find him so we sat back and enjoyed the party... for a moment. Then some fool arrived drunk beyond comprehension. He was a wanted man and his presence and shouting created unrest in the party. But it didn't stop there after the party had been riled up by the wanted man an undead cretin arrived. He began shouting about his lord and how the mortal races are doomed. Yada yada yada. That sets off some people in the crowd and it becomes a yelling match between supporters of the undead Iblees and more. I hate undead as much as the next person but it's a cake and ale party! Leave your troubles at the foot of the temple and shush about the squabbles of outside. Take a break from life and enjoy! This mainly goes toward the undead fool who started the whole thing! Learn to relax a little even if it's only for a few minutes. :: :: CONCLUSION :: OOC: I wanted to apologize for the delay on this copy and some of the syntax errors. I was not home yesterday to write the book ahead of time and my alarm did not go off so I didn't wake up early enough to finish this on time. We're trying to give you the best RP newspaper but understand we do have lives with problems that interfere with this. ALSO FOR SOME GOD AWFUL REASON EVERY PERIOD IN THE BOOK DISAPPEARED
