The Mage Chronicles :: Volume 1 :: :: The Beginning :: In the beginning there was nothing, only the Void. But in the Void there was a light, or as close to what we call a light, which was the one God. In Void he crafted the world, our world; Ageis. But this is the ancient lore and you know it well... Now we diverge from ancient lore, to something somewhat missed, skiped over if you will; that of magic. :: The power that is known as magic, was brethed into the very fabric of the world at the same time as he breathed his existence into Man. It was entwined into the world, and could not exist segmented. So it came to pass with the barrier erected between the worlds of the living and dead, that the power of magic ceased to exist, in all but the few most powerful... :: But is was not to last. The evil power of Iblees broke the power of the barrier, and the worlds of the living and dead once more entwined... With the failing of the barrier magic once more seeped through the world, and the inhabitants of Ageis once more felt a tingle in their blood... :: So it was that the ancient power of magic was awakened in Man. Those with the power of foresight could see ahead a fork in the path; one to light, the other darkness...
