1616 On Whisperer and Other Strange Matters edronos To the Blind Mage, the Arcane One. :: :: The voidwalker known as Whisperer has recently come to mold the affairs of Aegis to his wi ll, and I would like to discuss the matter or, at the very least, bring it to your attention. :: I have spoken with Everard, who took some interest in the matter, but I believe he, like m yself, feels that this Whisperer may either be a lunatic or of little consequence. I send word to you, however, as the voidwalker has taken a painstaking, and possibly wrathfu l interest in the Mage's Guild. :: I met the voidwalker alongside a fellow of mine by the name of Latsi. It was he who first took interest in Whisperer. They didn't know eachother, of course, but it was Whisperer's malevolent robes that caught h is eye. We took chase, eventually re-discovering the voidwalker atop a hill overlooking Al'Khazar's North gate. Latsi inquired into the man's robes, suspecting that he was a follower of the Undead. :: Surprisingly, the man admitted to it, openly, but with a certain rage and dismay. He added that the Undead took him in, only to betray him, and soon he would make them pay fo r their mistake. He tore away his robes, the symbol of his allegience, revealing his dead white eyes and red body paint, of which he would not tell the purpose of. He bid that we follow to the city square. ::There, he began shouting about the Undead and revealing their supposed secrets. The people of the city wouldn't have any of it. To be blunt, very few cared to listen. He was met by one called Wywern, I believe, who wore a similar, but green body paint. Together they left the city for Laurelin, where Latsi, a bandit named Boney, and I followed. ::On the road to the Elven capital, Whisperer revealed some things, which further twisted my ideas of him. He spoke of one called "Death-Caller", the supposed son of Iblees, and how he has usurped the fallen god, as this son's strength is far greater. Apparently, this Death-Caller has a certain vision for the world and wishes to change it. Moreover, Whisperer claims to have come from "the void", where Iblees himself hails from. However, that was not all. :: The voidwalker desperately wished to speak with his "brothers and sisters", the Ascended, who he knew were meeting in Laurelin. We found one Eos and Bell, who he had particular inter est in. Above all, he needed to speak with her. About what, I am not sure, but it concerned "the truth". As with the city square, none would have him, and he was brushed off like so much dust. He demanded that I or Latsi win an audience between he and Bell, but Latsi refused in the face of his treatment of the Ascended. :: Some time passed without word or sight of Whisperer, but one day when I was tending my for tress, which neighbors closely to the Mage Tower, Whisperer happened upon me. He asked if there was any word on the situation with Bell. I hadn't refused him, you see, fo r I enjoy intriguing company, but I also had nothing to report. However, at the time, I had gotten word that Bell had become a, if not "the", new Archmage of the Guild. I later learned that Bell is a new Guild Master, but his reaction proved interesting; Whisperer burst with rage and stormed off toward the T ower. :: Now, of this outburst, I am curious, and I was especially so at the time, considering that I knew one Hwaldar to be the, if not "a", Archmage of the Mage's Guild. I wonder if the two are connected. Before he hammered away, the Whisperer said one last thin g. He claimed to have rebuilt the Tower, only to be cast out afterwards. . Is he a mad liar? Some fool wanting to purchase fame with strange tales? Regardless, he has something against your magi and the Guild. Possibly, you knew him once? Maybe he was one of yours. I do not know. :: If we can speak one day about these matters, Arcane Mage, please contact me ((edronos)). I will be wating eagerly, for I feel there is a fine story brewing here, and many answers to be had. No matter the end of this story, I trust it will be noteworthy. :: :: -Ashdoune
