1631 Oren Guard Handbook Jon021 Congratulations on your recruitment, new guard recruit of Oren. This book will help you make it in the Oren Guard, by giving you instruction in everything pertaining to the Oren Guard. :: The first things you need to know are the ranks. :: Guard Recruit: this indicates that you are a new recruit to the guard. :: Guard: this is someone who has served enough time to become a normal guard. :: Guard Veteran: this is someone who has been on the guard long enough to potentially become a seargent. :: Seargent: this is the first rank who can give orders to lesser ranks, such as: recruits, guards, veterans. :: Lieutenent: this person is high enough rank to recruit people to the guard. He/she only takes orders from the captain. :: Captain: this is the highest rank on the guard. He/she has the power to recruit, give orders to everyone under him/her. :: Now that you know the ranks, you can know about the next most important thing: duties. :: gate duty: the most basic of duties: opening the gate for people leaving. The entry protocol is slightly different. When someone you don't recognize approaches tell them to state their name and business. If their name is not on the wanted lists inside the guard house, you may let them in. If their name is on the wanted list, do not let them in. :: Patrol: when you patrol, you go to the destination ordered and return. When you return, report your findings to your superiors. :: Battle: rarely, your superiors will tell you to prepare for battle. Your superiors will lead you to the battle. When you are in battle just follow your superior's orders and you should be fine. :: There are a few laws in Oren that all guards should know about. Breaking any of these laws is a punishable offense, and should be treated as such. :: Sword drawn in city: the punishment for this offense is normally just a warning; however, if there is a repeated offense, you may fine the offender 50 minas. :: A non-guard in the guardhouse: this is punishable by a fine of 300 minas and a second offense by death. :: Resisting arrest: If an offender resists arrest, you may kill or jail the offender. :: Assaulting a guard: this offense is only punishable by death. :: A copy of the Oren Guard Handbook should be given to all guards and new recruits. :: Written by: Oren Seargent Jon Evaglno Edited by: Lord Gabriel Hightower, Oren Lieutenent Atriana Descartes
