There were once Three Brothers who were travelling across a lonely winding road, at twilight. In time, the brothers reached a river too deep to wade through, and too dangerous to swim across . However, these brothers were learned in the magical arts. They would simply wave their wands and a bridge would appear across the treacherous waters. They were halfway across when they encountered a hooded figure. And Death spoke to them. He felt cheated for travellers would usually had drowned in the river. But Death was cunning. He pretended to congratulate the Brothers upon their magic. And said to each they deserve a prize for being able to evade him. The Oldest brother, a combative man, asked for a wand more powerful than all could dream of. So Death crossed over to an Elder tree, and fashioned a wand from a branch that hung their. And then gave it to the Eldest of the Three.
