anyone joining the guild as a soldier will start out as a Phalanxe, a novice. phalanxe are allowed their weapons of choice and leather armor. :: when proven, they may advance to the Sigma rank. sigma are allowed any weapon of their choice, and are given chainmail armor and iron armor. :: Lancers are not necessarily the next rank up, lancers are the guild guard, and must be proficient with bow and arrows, as well as sword. these are our elite archers. :: Praetorians are the final rank, before the actual council, and are given diamond armor, when available and the best weapons available. :: the Arms master is the best fighter in the guild and is responsible for training and testing members. he is one of the 5 council members in charge of the guild. :: the tactician is selected for his ingineuity, and does not need to be particularly good at hand to hand combat. he is in charge of deploying guild forces and managing certain contracts.
