3593 The Call of the Spirit, By Dedicant Saviticus Treebeard Saviordude This being a record of my communication with the spirit Thyrst, and of the art of staffmaking. :: :: There I stood, in the gates of Kal'Urguan planning my day when I was overcome with a vision. I stood within a forest, more beautiful then even that of Malinor. Before me stood a figure. At first glance I thought he was an ent, but upon closer inspection he turned out to be a man, made of the forest. "Do not be afraid Saviticus, I mean you no harm." He said, his voice that of the oak. "I have come to teach you, and to strengthen your ties to the spirits" Pausing for a moment, he continued. "Go forth into the forest, and find the sapling if the mighty pine, and I will continue your teaching." With this, the vision ended, and I set forth into the forest to complete my task. ::I travelled for many hours, before I came upon a sapling in the ground. "Pick me!" it cried. "Pick me, I shall serve you!" And so I gently scooped it out of the earth, and held it in my hands. As I did so, another vision came over me. "Very good Saviticus, this one shall do fine." Thryst said, looking over my find. Now, go forth and find a clearing, and plant this sapling. Then, feed it the bones of the dead, and I shall place a part of me into it as it grows" The vision ended, and once again I headed off to finish my task. :: Finding a clearing, I planted the sapling, and fed it the bones. Before my eyes it shot into the sky, twisting and turning as an ethernal glow blanketed it. Growing brighter, it led me into another vision. "Now Saviticus, your final task awaits you. Clear this tree of it's leaves and chop it down, making sure to mark where it stood. Then, craft the wood of the tree into planks so you may better work with it. With the dirt on which it stood as it's center, place into the earth the planks in a circle, 5 feet wide. Then, with the rest of the wood, craft a staff, you'll know what to do." The vision faded, and I set upon crafting the circle. :: After crafting the circle and staff, I rested. During my sleep, I had a dream. In the dream I stood inside a large circle, staff in my hand. Pointing it at the center, the earth spilt at that point, and a forest grew from the crevice. Waking from my slumber, I now knew what I had to do. Walking up to the circle, I lifted the staff above my head. "Thyrst!" I cried, as the wind starting to pick up. "I ask you to lend me your power, and bless this staff with the grace of nature!" Striking the earth in the middle of the circle, a bright light shone from the ground and consumed me. :: When I awoke, Thryst stood before me, a ghostly spirit. "Well done Saviticus, you have crafted your staff and empowered it with natures grace, along with a part of my spirit. This staff shall be your companion for the rest of your days, and it shall serve you well" :: He turned away from me, facing the rising sun. "I will meet you again Saviticus when you are ready, until then go forth and teach your fellows what I have taughten you." With that he faded away, and I began my travel back to Kal'Urguan.
