Halfblood Chronicles I: Birth of the Halflings

Stonehead, the third king of Kal'Urguan after the death of King Simmpa, was a more brazen ruler than his predecessors and took to him a human wife. Magdoline was a baron woman and fourth wife to King Stonehead, married upon the anniversary of his second year of rule.  While Stonehead bore many children he greatly loved Magdoline and desired for her to be with child. King Stonehead beseeched the help of a Druid that his wife might conceive and by Suns Smile the following year she bore Kragnook,  the first Halfling and the first known Halfblood of Aegis.:: With King Stonehead's popularity among the dwarves, many sought to marry human wives and thus began a dark time for dwarf-human relations. Men started to fear and hate the dwarfs for coming into their villages by night and stealing women away. By the time King Stonehead's reign ended and  the fourth king, Vixnor, assumed the crown the population of Halflings had grown to fourscore and six. King Dan of Al'Khazar stormed Kal'Urguan with a small force to demand the citizens of Oren be left in peace. Vixnor, who despised the marrying of dwarves and humans, agreed to outlaw the partnerships and sought to kill all living Halflings. In an act of compassion Dan rescued the Halflings and bade them to live in the outskirts of Oren. After the passing of many kings the Halflings established the township of Dunwood and the outlawing of interracial relationships was forgotten.>
