4156 On the Governing of This Devout Kingdom... GavLan Section 1: Respect :: The governing of a Kingdom runs deeply off of respect for the Prince. All subjects should have respect for the Prince, including family. Make it clear, you are the lord and master, nothing else. Some may say it is better to rule with love rather then fear, I am different. Like many other philosophers before my time, I beleive human nature is nothing but greed. Humans are very egoisitc characters. Use me as an example. As I started as a peasant begging on the street, I was saved by his majesty's grace, King Syrio. I was raised from that peasant into a noble advisor. As my political power rose and my place in the social class, so did my ego. With a king ruling in fear, people with egos bigger then their breeches will be forced to submit to the sovereignty of his majesty and his land. Along with respect comes the proper addressing. Since my time as a peasant I reffered to his majesty, King Syrio, the way I should in fear of his wrath. :: Section 2: Foreign Affairs and Warfare :: It is held in my highest hopes that our Kingdom will rise to the top, even if it takes warfare and conquest. Foreign affairs should be handled by the King himself to prove his absolutism over the kingdom. We should not rely on others for the backing of our military, but rather our own. Alliances can be broken, and debts must be payed. An addition to the fact we should use our own military, mercanaries cannot be trusted. They fight not for the King himself, but for pay. They do not fight from their soul, but from their greed. :: Majesty, I will have more parts to include ammendments. This is the basic structure of a successful kingdom. I pray for a great campaign with your majesty.
