4781 Report:Siege of Wrath's Clutch durzio Date: Joma. 13th of The Deep Cold, 1324 i stand, looking over Fort FairLeaf with a ever renewed feeling of pride.. on the day of the 12th,Kamees,the Wardens of Malinor had finally lain siege on Wrath's Clutch aftewe after weeks of preperations, stockpiling, and building we went in about our numbers of fifty and one,if my count was spot on. when we came out..we numbered but twenty.. many were lost, upon coming to the Clutch's Courtyard. Wrath stood upon the masonry and dropped wicked bolts of lightning on our heads eventually we broke through the wall, where many more met their untimely demises Zombies. by the hundreds, we hacked and we slashed, but many were merely crushed by the innumerable amount of dead flesh charging towards us. when we had slain all of the monstrosities,we were met with more lightning, this time, none died,as we knew from the thunder to take cover we climbed the castle, slaying those who opposed us we were a righteous force indeed! Wrath,Naturally,Fled from us,on his ship the coward. more than half of the wardens returned to the warden headquarters. Prince Mylas left a memorial inside the main room of the Clutch,in honor of those we lost during the Siege. despite having a victory, many were disheartened with a sense of defeat due to Wrath's escape, and FairLeaf was nearly empty i tended to my duties, farming, collecting materials, reorganizing the supply room, etc but later on that day, when i hear thunder,i immeadieatly knew what was happening i called an owl, speaking to nature with elven tongue, and sent a message to the warden headquarters, hailing them, and hoping for a haste return to FairLeaf for Wrath had returned. maybe he wanted to take advantage of the wardens return to headquarters, maybe he just wanted revenge, ill never know. wrath practically danced about the ruins of his destroyed castle, and i watched as he brutally murdered 4 Orcs,as they simply looked around the Ruins. lightning charred there Green skin to a sickening, and smoldering, brown. i could hear his maniacal laugh, all the way in the tower, and i wanted to retch this was a being that reviled,in the murder of the innocent. it was then that the Wardens returned, with the speed only elves could muster. i quickly informed Warden Noble Theyador of the situation, and off we went, our number about ten and seven. the coward dropped lightning as usual, but we were well used to it,and only one,Warden Waywatcher Arma, was injured. eventually,Wrath realized the lightning would no longer work, he raised his staff and spoke in some kind of gutteral chanting that vaguely hurt my ears our fallen bretheren and many nameless others pulled their way out of the Earth some of them armed with bows, and virtually no flesh left, others, rabid and knashing their teeth Zombies as if imatating we Elves, Wrath jumped to the trees to watch as we fought our own bretheren, now his slaves. i remember hacking away at them,i still have night terrors about it tremors of impact shook my arm, cold blood splashed my face but i kept on,for every impact, every drop, kept me and my fellow wardens alive and freed our enslaved Bretheren from his servitude. we chased him,as he lept from tree to tree, the forests seem to not end, but that was a good thing to us elves, perhaps wrath did not know we are at home in the trees? we overtook him,and began to strike at his heels in the end,it was Warden Initiate Wildthorn who got the killing blow, and slain the monster we dragged his body to the earth, and buried him, only after we buried our own i spat on his grave. we took his necromancer-staff,as a trophy of our great victory we hope to put it on display in the warden headquarters keep afterwards moods were greatly lifted, after avenging our fallen brothers ale flowed like water, and bread was passed around we ate, drank, and were merry now today as i look over FairLeaf, when before i saw only the escaped enemy now i see that the Wardens victory,in whatever we set out to do,will always come eventually (finished Sabet, 14th of The Deep Cold, 1324)
