4997 The Journal of Zolgash Amarnra Chapter One: History I am an orc. Before anyone who may in the future reads this book wonders, what the hell is an orc doing writing a book?! Why does he have such good grammar? I'll tell you why about three years ago in a battle with some enemies I have yet to determine (Atlthough I do remember a giant dwarf. And I mean GIANT!) I was hit on the head with an axe. That is the scar you would see if you met me today. I do remember very vaugley something else... A mage, or group of mages casting a powerful spell. Maybe it was a curse? I do not remember. But there was a powerful discharge of magic which knocked me unconscious. The next thing I remember is waking up in bed. All my previous memories erased and only the memory of the axe and the magic remain. I do not believe that an axe strike from the dwarf caused my Amnesia. But the Magic Discharge. I believe I need a mage to fix my memory. The bed I woke up in was that of some elves. I did not undrstand anything they were sayin in fact, i did not remember how to speak or walk at all. I was like a baby A helpless, helpless baby. They taught me their ways. How to speak, write. They taught me the ways of the forest and how to shoot a bow, how to tend to crops and the trees and how to treat animals. But that life was not for me. Exploring. I set off from the elves. Their lives were not for me. I felt deep down in my bones I was meant to be an orc. So I left. Eventually came across the capital with the help of a very find human whom the name of I have forgotten. Should I meet him again I shall remember. I met up with an orc at the gates. They taught me Ug- Hello and Gug'ye - Goodbye. They eventually left to check on their shinies (Things) and I came across another Orc. I had to prove to them I was not weak and that I could fight. I live for the fight! They taught me more of the language. their mannerisms. I told them my story, the one at the start of this book. I am now exploring, collecting more things. I shall write in this journal my story from here on in. :: Chapter Two: The Castle After many days and nights of exploring and killing the undead for money and for loot I came across a castle. I met up with a company of two orcs and they explained to me that for that castle to remain the occupants must pay them 3 diamonds every muun (sunday). Aparently these occupants had been evading the payments and decided to build defences and ready for war with the orcs. I had recently enlisted in the Orc army as a runt and was undecided on the matter. I then approached the gate later on when the other orcs had left in my own private investigation of the matter. I met a man on the walls. A human. He claimed that he does not know the reason why the orcs are attacking and says that they just began attacking. Me being an orc obviously raised suspiscions within him as he raised a bow at me. I promptly left. The next day a green man (I had no idea what race he was of) and a Dwarf by the name of Axehammer. By the look of his uniform I would say he was a captain. Captain Axehammer. I had a conversation with them and The Captain Axehammer claimed he was trading with the green man and the Green man said that the orcs were attacking their castle. The Dwarf went with the Green man to see if this claim was true. The green man was under the same impression as the man at the gates. I followed them to the walls and then pointed out an obvious fault with their bridge mechanism which allowed anyone to operate it. They Thanked me. I saw an elf nearby. Obviously not a friend of the Castle Occupants as they were asking the Elf what he was doing in their lands. Whilst he was on the bridge someone pulled the lever and the bridge withdrew, leaving the elf to fall into a pit. The Castle occupants laughed. I was interested at this behaviour. It did not seem very friednly towards the elves, perhaps the elves would join forces with the orcs against this cast le? The occupants of the castle then offered me to join them. I declined and said that I was not ready to decide on the matter. I need to think things over, get some more evidence. I need to find out who is wrong so I can join their side in the battle. Oh how I crave a battle! :: Chatper Three: Explorations :: I took refuge in an abandonded fort tonight. I heard the grunts of some Zombie Pigmen outside the walls and decided they would make good target practice. I shoot one of them with four arrows and it fell over dead. The other two stood in shock as their companion died. I shot 6 arrows in total, three into each of the other zombie pig men and mortally wounded them. I then pulled out my axe, jumped down and finished them off. Their warm blood splattering everywhere was refreshing. I found quite a lot of minas on their corpses. It amazed me how they always seemed to have some on them, it was like they murder innocent adventurers and steal all of their money. I have never seen one in the act, but I shall make it one of my ambitions to catch them in the act. I continued exploring the next morning. I came across a bridge which had a giant hole in the middle. I easily jumped across so see what was on the other side. On my right all I could see was destruction. Not only to the environment but all of the buildings la y abandonded and in ruin. A mighty stone fort stood in the distance, i went to investigate. On the front of the fort stood a sign. It simply stated: "Tribute to Orcs for protection and land. use T. Elm-Hammer" It was a very Dwarven sounding name, and the fort looked dwarven, so I assumed thaat the dwarves built it. Underneath the sign was a chest, guarded by key and enchantments. I guessed that not even my mighty axe could break through. I walked into the keep and looked up. Above the door stood another sign: "This Tower is Protected by the Orc Nation T. Elm-Hammer" I then decided to meet with this "T. Elm-Hammer" figure. I wanted to know what life was like living in this fort. :: :: :: . ((The writing on this page slowly fades to nothing, as if the writer ran out of ink.))
