6282 Journal of James Moffatt Zdrok ENTRY 1 :: After gathering ample food and tools, I departed from my home. My parents did not approve of my journey, but they did not stop me. I do not know where I will go, but I need to earn my own living. My life cannot be simply handed to me by "loving" parents. :: :: ENTRY 2 :: I have come upon the Cloud Temple of Aegis. From here I will head to a nearby human city. Hopefully I can find work soon, as I am down to a few meager slices of bread. :: ENTRY 3:::: I have wandered through these streets all day and found nothing. This city is cluttered and convoluted; I have lost my way countless times. I do not even know the name of the city I currently reside in. No job offerings have come up despite my constant searching for any work. :: :: ENTRY 4 :: In desperation, I left a notice on a board that I would take any job availible. A millitant by the name of Thaern has offered me a job as a farmer on his estate. It will pay 300 minas per week and he will provide shelter and food. I took the job and am waiting on him so we can walk to the place. :: :: ENTRY 5 :: I am writing this while warm and dry inside a house that I earned myself. No inheritance, no allowance, just pay and rent. My employer has provided a two-story house of high quality in exchange for the simple labor of harvesting his wheat and reeds. I cannot believe my good fortune in finding this job. :: :: ENTRY 6 :: Working on the farm is so peaceful. The estate is well built and far from the clutter of the city. I am able to make good pay, and the wheat that I produce fills the air with a pristine scent. Everything I need is provided here: food, shelter, and work. I may not be so quick to take off after all.
