Tempering is the process of Quenching and Heating. The purpose of Tempering is to loosen the bonds  that hold the metal together, like stretching a dough and allowing it to relax before it is baked. :: The way to do Tempering is by dunking the hot metal rod into water and then heating it by letting it sit in lava. Repeat the process til Sword may bend easily without snapping or breaking. Be careful, and always use tongs. :: The main body of the sword is now completed :: :: Now we make a hilt and guard.
