946 An Expedition North, to the Root of Evil. Respiren Word had reached our ear's in the fair city of Laurelin that Winterfall had fallen.:: Decided and empty handed, Dwarf Foreman Holmes Dolir and I set out to inspect the town now known as of 'Winterfell'.:: A detour on the road To Oren was taken, to see the gardens and grand halls of the dwarves, known as Kal'urguan. After some alks with a guard Win'on, hateful of elves we were granted entry. Alas the stores were closed, and no fine equipment or pumpkins could be purchased. ::Undiscouraged we continued on, assured that nature would provide.:: After many days we reached the kingdom of men, only to find it's gates closed to travelers. Around it's east wall and across it's port we swam. The dwarf keeping to the shallows, till we once again reached a snowy path heading north. We followed its turning east through outposts and Alstion, where the undead were driven back. These towns now seemingly deserted. After long travels we reached the walls of Winterfell, and found it to be a prison tower, curiously intact after it's inhabitants were destroyed by the undead, but empty, with only a lonely birch displaying damage. No men, but only a protected pumpkin patch remained.:: Disappointed and keenly desiring the company pumpkins we resolved to continue northward, coming to a stop to build a small house to take shelter from hunger and the night. Knowing we had travelled far to the northeast, we changed out heading northwest. On this path we met with many caves, and signs of fallen arrows and torches - people had gone before us even in these wilds. After many many days of travel, and hunge, my keen eyes saw a burning tree. Following these flames ever northward we found a small cave in which to sojourn. ::There dismayed, we placed a table and dined on restorative mushroom broth, it seemed so far north there was nothing to find but hardship and the wilds. Looking over the land once more before we returned, I spied a clearing with roses. Seeking to collect some of these herbs as a memnto of our long journey, I descended into the clearing. And lo, before us towered an firey city in the sky, yet completed, emanating evil and blighting the land below it.:: Finding a point of ascent and leaving, the dwarf below in the dangerous mines, I entered what appeared to be an obsidian temple. I found my self curiously drawn by an irresistable force towards it's altar. Losing my footing I fell! into an unseen sacrificial pit of lava, there I wroth in fire, until I was extinguished. Thereafter I awoke in the Temple of Aegis, body destroyed but spirit intact to wait on the healing powers of the monks, resolved not to return to that foul place, and to uproot this evil from the land.:: Wayward_Druid_Respiren
